It’s hard to believe a year has passed since I had my #CyberKnife treatments. While it looked to be good news in December, I recently began having new (and pre-surgery too) symptoms. After a new MRI showed no change in these 5 past months, my neurosurgeon talked to me about having another #craniotomy surgery in May- from a different entryway. After a meeting with my otologist and the two Doctors discussing, they have decided to wait until June to look again and see what the tumor is doing. While showing no growth is a great thing, NOT showing any signs of necrosis is not. I’m at the point where the CK should be working the most. So, we wait and let me ‘bake’ some more. So many of you have prayed for me this past year and a half. I cannot tell you how much it means to me and that I know it is what has brought me so far! If you can, please pray this radiation works!! ❤️ #acousticneuroma #acousticneuromasurvivor #warrior #oneyearlater
CyberKnife is OVER! WhooHoo!! I want to say thank you to everyone who called, texted, loved, and mostly prayed for me!! I felt it all as I laid there. After 586 beams of radiation over 3 days were shot into my brain, all I can do now is pray and wait. We won't know for many months if it works- but I have had an amazing team of Doctors I am very confident about! Dr. Pappas, Dr. Swaid, and Dr. Dumas have literally saved my life and now the greatest physician, whose hand was leading each of these men, Our Heavenly Father- will finish it!
Thank you to my precious 6th grade girls for this sheet covering me with the words of Jesus everyday. #cyberkniferadiosurgery #cyberknife #acousticneuroma #acousticneuromasurvivor #gograyinmay #thegreatphysician #godisgood #steelcitypops #thefishmarket #mydoctorsrock
I had my 6th month checkup after #Cyberknife Radiosurgery today. I was very anxious but also knew there was a good chance I wouldn’t know anything as it sometimes takes up to two years to see results. I am thankful to the Good Lord- after many many prayers- that I got a good report! The tumor looks like it is starting to die. It’s turning dark in the middle- which is what we had hoped for. This has been an incredibly long, hard year. To see Dr. Swaid smiling at me and tell me there is hope, is a feeling I cannot describe. In his words- he didn’t want to ‘hype it too much’ for me but it looks like I am healing! Thank you to everyone that has reached out, prayed, and taken care of me this year!! Keep praying it completely dies. I will have a follow up MRI in 6 months! Now... time to focus on my daughters upcoming wedding!!! #acousticneuroma #acousticneuromasurvivor #braintumor #weddingbells
Our poor sweet Sherlock is not doing well, he had an MRI recently and was found to have a mass in his pituitary gland. We are looking into a cutting edge procedure called CyberKnife to see if he is candidate. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #rescuedog#dogsofbrooklyn#brooklyn#ilovemydog#pointermix#labrador#seniordog#pets#mutt#dogstagram#ridgebacksofinstagram #muttsofinstagram #cyberknife #puptasticweekk #browndog #dogsmakelifebetter #bedbugdogs
Iris collimator for robotic Radiosurgery. This allows the CyberKnife field size to be varied during treatment and reduces the treatment time. It can provide the desired field size.

Last November we received the news that Jeff had prostate cancer, ironically during the month dedicated to #prostatecancerawareness
It was such a shocker.
He’s only 45 years old!
In the following weeks, we sat through appointments discussing the biopsy, stage, grade, aggressiveness of cells and treatment options, side effects, survival rates, and on and on.
It was surreal, to say the least.
We were so lucky that the cancer was caught early...so early, in fact, that the doctor said they probably could not have caught it any sooner.
This early diagnosis opened us up to a more advanced treatment option with lower side effects. Jeff chose a radiation treatment called #CyberKnife that, given his stage and grade of cancer, had a 99.9% survival rate 15 years out.
We spent the beginning of 2019 juggling life to fit in Jeff’s treatments and accepting help (which I am not good at) so we could attend his appointments together.
We truly saw the power of our support network here in Colorado. We had friends bringing us dinners on treatment days, picking our kids up from school, taking our kids in when we were home later than expected, and sending prayers and good vibes.
Thank you to EVERYONE who sent prayers, messages or stepped in to help us.
I am so happy to say that Jeff officially completed his radiation treatment yesterday with very minimal side effects. I attribute this to his young age but also our healthy lifestyle.
Last night, we celebrated our T W E N T I E T H
yup 20th, Valentine’s Day together and, boy, do we have a lot to be grateful for.
The special people in this picture and our extended family who helped get us through this tough time.
Now we wait...a couple months until the final tests to confirm he is cancer free. But with all your prayers and our amazing care...I know his is!
