Angel Parting Gifts For every door that closes While still mourning the loss of their friend, Angel & Cordelia are joined by a rogue demon hunter tracking a mysterious demon I really like this episode, it actually takes the time to deal with grief & doesn't automatically replace a fallen character with someone new, yes it clearly sets up a new partnership & it ends with a really sweet feeling of hope & family but it doesn't forget the one that used to be there. Cordelia's audition is a great scene & despite the big twist being a little obvious, it doesn't really affect the episode. Sadly, the superhero digital show “The Tick” has been officially canceled by Amazon after just two seasons. Ben Edlund, officially tweeted the following “I'm sorry to say Amazon has chosen not to proceed with [The Tick]," with him further saying "I'm not sorry to say I love this show, its cast, its story, and its message. Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series." and that ending it with “"Meanwhile thank u from my heart's bottom to all the fans who've shared their love with us and the show," Edlund added in a follow up tweet. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Doomed It's the end of the world... Again After discovering each others secrets, Buffy & Riley have questions but an earthquake puts paid to them when it signals yet another apocalypse Picking up exactly where Hush ended, this is quite a step down from that masterpiece, its biggest problem is that it recycles The Zeppo's subplot & although I'm not a big fan of that episode, it's brilliant compared to this, Willow even states they've done all this before & it shows, it's credited to 3 writers & clearly none of them remembered the past few episodes let alone the previous season. Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fear Itself There's nothing to be afraid of Still feeling down because of Parker, Buffy agrees to join her friends for some fun at a Halloween party in a fraternity house however, it soon turns out to be more real than anyone expected Buffy's second Halloween episode is a mostly successful episode which just about lives up to its title, there are quite a few good scares as the harmless fun transforms into terror - my favourite being the plastic skeleton becoming more realistic as the camera pans up, the ending is comedic but when faced with fear, why wouldn't you laugh in the face of it. Angel Lonely Heart This socialising thing is brutal Doyle's latest vision sends Angel looking for a parasitic demon preying on the lonely but it brings him into conflict with a police officer searching for a serial killer Only the second episode in but it feels like Angel, Cordelia & Doyle have been together for years, they work so brilliantly together. Apart from introducing Kate Lockley (the wonderful Elizabeth Röhm) it's another stand-alone episode featuring some pretty cool body horror to give a new spin on the serial killer genre - how do you catch a killer that's never in the same body & despite ending with the most appropriate suspect, still kinda feels fresh.
