Wind blown sand dunes in Death Valley on a warm March evening. Completely wrapped up (including a face mask) in an attempt to minimize the impact of the blowing sand, I spent a couple of hours trekking these dunes in an attempt to find good angles to shoot with a telephoto lens. Zabriskie Point at Furnace Creek in Death Valley. This is the hottest place on earth and boy did it feel like it as I was taking this photo. Wind was whipping up the face of the rock I was standing on at gale force speed, strong enough to knock sunglasses off my head and the ground was radiating a temperature of over 48 degrees (118F) . I felt like a human oven but it was the whole reason I was here, to photograph this crazy landscape carved by the elements for @thephotographicforecast. Taken with the @olympus_au OM-D E-M1X and 12-40mm f2.8 lens that are built to withstand wild conditions like this. *New IG Related Blog Posts!* Love these Death Valley Road views on our way to Death Valley from Joshua Tree (blog posts on both parks in bio). This shot combines a few things I love - taking road trips, being outdoors and finding wide open spaces like this away from any crowds (no cars around but also no gas stations, so fill up beforehand!).
