We talk about injecting a certain amount of units, but do we actually know how much we are injecting?
It’s amazing to see these TINY, little puddles of ‘liquid gold’ set out like this.
The difference between injecting 1 unit or 10 units is LIFE THREATENING, yet as you can see, they hardly differ in physical amount.
I have 1 unit of insulin going into me from my insulin pump every hour (without bolusing extra units for eating).
I would be severely sick without this tiny little amount ➡️ CRAZY

Oh hey there diabeauties✨
Ive been reluctant to post anything over the past couple of weeks, because my diabetes has been COMPLETELY off track, and I was conscious of becoming a ‘complainer’ or a ‘bad influence’.
But that’s not why I created this account. I created this to share ALL of my experiences, connect with others who understand & to show people that it’s normal to have bad days.
I’m 3/4 of my way through an 8 week block of placement & my mind doesn’t have room to hold diabetes as my top priority everyday. No CGM, averaging 1-3 BGLs a day & eating relatively low carb/ healthy (except for night time binges- OOPS, I am human).
Hopefully once I finish my placement & my uni semester in a couple of weeks, I can focus on having a really good couple of weeks of eating, diabetes control and monitoring my BGL patterns, to re-motivate myself

I was told it could’ve been the result of a bad reaction to an immunization shot, but the exact cause is still a mystery.

freezer fudge - AKA my fave way to kick my sugar cravings to the curb

healthy fats are *oh so* necessary to transition your body from being a sugar-burner to a fat-burner. & this super easy to make freezer fudge not only will keep you feel fuller for longer, but will satisfy your sweet tooth so you don’t have that nagging feeling like you are missing out in all the tasty treats.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1/2 cup MCT or coconut oil
1/2 cup creamy nut butter (I used no sugar sunflower butter)
1/2 cup cacao powder
1/4 cup sticky sweetener (you make it sugar free with something like @lakantosweetener maple syrup - but I chose to real, dark maple syrup here)
pinch of salt
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
just melt together in a pot, pour into molds, & stick it in your freezer. after 20-30 mins you will have a DELISH treat.
