If you can make just ONE step in the direction, motivation will FOLLOW the action. ⠀ Motivation is fickle. It’s fleeting. If you are waiting around to be motivated, you may be waiting for a while. ⠀ Have you ever said, “I want to lose weight,” & then you didn’t lose it? ⠀ I sure have. And it’s because I didn’t automate or make an actionable plan to achieve it. ⠀ People who make a clear specific PLAN are much more likely to follow through. ⠀ How do you start? First, nail down a time & a place for your habit to happen. ⠀ Here’s some ways to change up your words, which will in turn, change your actions: ▪️”I want to eat healthier” —> I will eat 3-5 servings of veggies everyday ▪️”I want to sleep more” —> I will go to bed at 10pm so I get 7-9 hours of sleep ▪️”I want to workout more” —> I will commit to working out 3x a week, after work, for 30 minutes. ▪️”I want to improve my relationship with my partner/spouse” —> I will make us both coffee in the morning & ask how their day went after work. ⠀ Eliminate the abstract fluffernutter nonsense & you leave space & time to actually get a real plan in place! ⠀ If your goals are vague or unclear, it’s easy to just let life pass us by as we wait for the perfect time to start. ⠀ But when you have a plan in place w/ accountability, you can more easily avoid things that derail you or distract you from getting closer to it. ⠀
