What’s your favorite spirit? . . Out of the 42 congac’s from this weekend I only maybe liked two. And with my luck watch it be the most expensive ones too. I am really digging @hecreative these days. Im not sure how they want to describe their professional selves (independent artist? Creative agency? Loose knit organization run by an adorable pug named Peanut?) When once I would score fanzines for new music, I now spend hours on IG checking out new artist and they produce consistent cool stuff with their own tales and experiences and they have been growing and getting more defined each week. I am always amazed how productive and proactive artists are and how much it take to developer a body of work —- drawing is like magic to me and really lights me up. ‍ plus they are super sweet and funny. Perhaps I’m stating the obvious, but I’m not the best when it comes to using social media. I work full time and run my own business in my free time, so I rarely make enough of an effort to build a strong online presence. But I’m trying to be better! So, let me introduce myself. My name is Tiana and my jewelry business, Sayuri Designs, is based off my middle name - Sayuri - which means “little lily” in Japanese. I’ve been a maker all my life; I started selling my art when I was about 10. My first booth was at my elementary school’s holiday bazaar in Montara, California, on the coast just south of San Francisco. These days I am based in Chattanooga, Tennessee and travel around the Southeast selling at craft fairs and markets. When I am not designing and selling jewelry, I work as a full time distiller with Chattanooga Whiskey, making booze, filling barrels, and driving a forklift. I’m obsessed with symmetry, a little shy, and I prefer my whiskey with one cube! Cheers!
