Why is having knowledge important?

So there's a quote I like to remind myself and others of, which is 'knowledge is power'. This really speaks volumes when put into context and actually understood, and this can be applied to all aspects of life, the more knowledgeable you are on a subject, the more understanding you have, therefore the more you can put that knowledge to action.
~
Knowledge is what now allows us to drive cars instead of riding horses, it's what helps us to survive longer than those hundreds of years back, the same thing can be to said every individual out there.
~
A perfect example of this which you can all resonate with is the gym, the more knowledge you have in regards to eating right and lifting correctly, the more progress you're going to make, it's as simple as that (aslong as you put the work in alongside it of course). But looking at it this way, you can understand how much having that extra knowledge about things your interested in will make a difference.
~
I also say this about those suffering from things like anxiety, every day without fail I research and try to gain more knowledge on how the human brain works and to get a better understanding of why we think the way we do. I would recommend this to everyone because the more you understand about something the more you can realise it happening, the more you can see it happening and know why it's happening. Which in turn sets you on the right path to start self-improving.
Becoming less anxious in social situations.
~
Anxiety in general is a horrible feeling. For those who may not have experienced this, to put it VERY simply - it's a horrible feeling of nervousness which happens in every day situations and people who haven't experienced this won't have any issues with, such as going to the cinema, walking to the shop, going for a meal etc...
~
This can lead to avoiding situations which can start to disrupt your everyday life, severe stress can affect your daily routine, work, school and other stuff. So learning some coping skills or doing things which can help to reduce this feeling is vital to overcoming this.
~
Some people may not believe it's possible to overcome, but that's just your mindset and your own brain telling you that. Just because it may not seem possible doesn't mean it isn't. It just takes hard work and consistency.
~
This isn't someone speaking about it who has never dealt with it, I suffered with this from a very early age, dealt with it for over 6 years so I am living proof that it can be overcome and it's completely possible, so if the following tips help anyone then I'll be extremely happy.
~
Personally, I think the best way to begin is to write down everything that bothers you, what triggers these feelings? What situations especially make you feel the worst? How do you feel in that moment? You aren't going to be able to pull yourself out of it overnight. But it's a process that's worth it.
~
Look up some breathing techniques, look up mindfulness and meditation. Start working out, even if it's at home - alot of times, social anxiety can come down to your confidence, so stepping out of your comfort zone and doing things that make you more confident is a fantastic starting point. Start to realise that people aren't looking at you, people do not care what you're doing.
~
This isn't to sound harsh, but to make you see that what you see and what you think about yourself, is CERTAINLY NOT what others think, everytime you're in a situation and are anxious to do something, think of someone else doing it, would it bother you? Would you even think about it twice? No you wouldn't.

Smashing out some deadlifts this morning, was going to do 5 X 5, but changed it up a bit with as many working sets as I can do with 5 reps continuously increasing until can no longer do 5, got this idea from @eddiehallwsm and works brilliantly, managed to improve my deadlift amount a little by doing this overtime!
