SHOW SOME GRATITUDE✨
Our minds generally tend to focus on the bad stuff- the person who cut us off on the road earlier, the person who didn't say thankyou when we let them in front of us in the queue, the friend who cancelled plans at the last minute.
If we're not careful, it gets to the point where we focus so much on the negatives that just one negative thing can ruin our day
I've started thinking of three things I'm grateful for a the end of every day- these can literally be anything, like someone holding the door open for you. It might sound small, but after a while, you can start to find lots of little pockets of happiness, even on the bad days
Today I'm grateful that:
1. I get to spend some time with my Dad
2. Someone lent me their headphones in the gym (an absolute angel)
3. My avocado was rly ripe this morn
Since there are a bunch of new people here, I thought I’d re-introduce myself. ♀️

I’m an eating disorder therapist and founder of @theeatingdisordercenter an outpatient therapy and coaching practice that works with people in Rockville, Maryland + worldwide via video (link in my bio to learn more )

I am incredibly passionate about eating disorder recovery, health at every size, & advocating against weight stigma and diet culture.

I also have my own history of sexual trauma, an eating disorder, anxiety, and depression-which inspired me to help others who are struggling to find the same freedom that I did.

Just here to be your pain-in-the-ass reminder that recovery is important on the weekends too

Sometimes the lack of structure on weekends can cause us to default to stalling when it comes to nourishing ourselves.
.
If this is you-if you find yourself falling into eating disorder behaviors on the weekends-please know you are NOT alone.
.
I suggest making a little plan o’ attack-write out a little structure for Saturday and Sunday-after all, research suggests we are 42% more likely to do something if we write it down mmmk? ✏️
.
Make sure you add meals and snacks in there (the amount you know your bod needs. Not fewer because of some arbitrary term we’ve come up with for combining two meals *lookin at you brunch*)
.
Try to keep your view of the lists flexible and fluid. Your plans can change throughout the weekend (of course) But nourishing your bod is important no matter what plans look like. And don’t forget to add some self-care in there!

Was wäre, wenn die Gedanken rund ums Gewicht und Essen nicht mehr vorhanden sein würden?
Was wäre, wenn du selbst deine beste Freundin wärst und dich auch so behandelst?
Was wäre wenn du auf deinen Körper hörst und ihm Selbstliebe schenkst?
Was wäre wenn du stets aus deiner Komfortzone austreten würdest, Dinge tun die dir angst machen aber die zeigen werden, dass es nur halb so schlimm ist?
Was wäre wenn du mal spontan wärst und einfach mal nach Gefühl handelst?
Was wäre wenn du die Situation jetzt einfach mal akzeptierst und dich nicht dafür fertig machst und dann das beste draus machst ?
Was wäre wenn du heute anfängst genau diese Dinge zu tun und zu kämpfen- jeden Tag Stück für Stück?
Du kannst das - aber du musst anfangen zu kämpfen, wirklich zu kämpfen!

This question has been flooding my inbox. Loooook, y’all. The raw food lifestyle saved my life. I am incredibly passionate about the power of living plant foods— so much so that I’ve devoted the last 8 months to creating books of recipes & information to help others thrive!

Does part of my recovery process include eating sweet potatoes with dinner some nights? Heck yeah. Does that mean I’m “giving up” on anything? Not unless you mean boxing myself into a label, calorie restrictive mindset, or fears around foods. Fruit is still the staple of my diet, and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I don’t know where this will lead me when it comes to labels, but at the end of the day, does it really matter? I’m learning to listen to my body as I rebuild a healthy relationship with food, so labeling how I eat is the last thing I want to be focusing on. ♀️

If you haven’t been watching my stories, right now my eating looks like: Fruit for break-fast, lunch, & snacks (with some romaine/cucumbers thrown in). Savory raw meal (nori rolls, zoodles, recipes from my book, etc.) or a big salad + a couple sweet potatoes for dinner. And who knows, this might look different a month from now.

Truth be told, I’ve never gotten as excited about any other food the way I get excited about fruit. Eating & creating raw food makes me feel ALIVE. ☀️ Fruit makes up the bulk of what I eat because it makes my mind, body, & soul happy. But allowing simple & healthy cooked foods to be an option in my lifestyle is grounding me & helping me to break through mental blocks around food, and I’m not ashamed of that. I am open to evolving and allowing my body to guide me— without labels— as I continue to grow & explore.
