My favorite vid ever I still love everything about it: my Harley cosplay, the neon light, the mood, and well, the song - “This City Needs a Hero” is still very special to me and it’s the track that marked the beginning of @sleepkeepers. . “Where can I find your band’s music?” has been the most frequently asked question in my DMs for the past 2 months The thing is, I took down ALL of Sleepkeepers’ tracks two months ago. So my music is not on iTunes, Google Play or Amazon etc. any longer and I’m not sure whether I’ll ever put it up again‍♀️ You can still find it on YouTube and Soundcloud, search for Sleep Keepers . For over half a year now I’ve been working on something very different I wanna be known by❤️ I finally embarked on a journey that so far has taught me more than all these previous years in music did all together.. And there’s just a couple of small details to fall into place, just a bit more work to be done. . I’m so very proud of how far I’ve come this time. I don’t want to make music just for the sake of music anymore. ‍♀️ “You have a gift. And gifts are meant to be given away” I’ve been once told. And now I finally get it: music is just another tool to change the world, to heal hearts, to save lives. . I don’t want to be another marketing project, another badass rocker, another pretty face that can sing. And now I know why I’ve met so many challenges on my way to releasing these new songs: I wasn’t ready then. The realization I can do something better with the spark I’ve been given hit me only about a month ago. The universe kept slowing me down, driving me mad and making me question my actions. . I think the word for what I’m going through is Gratitude. It’s what shifts an artist’s focus off of industry expectations and the successes of other musicians and points it back on what’s happening with their own work. It’s about looking away from where you desperately want to go in music and being happy for where you’re at – no matter where you’re at. Instead of wishing for a certain number of fans, views, likes, or money made from music, I’m feeling thankful for how far I’ve already come, walking down the road to a greater adventure. ❤
