Thought this would be a useful share! - This is a list of produce and their levels of pesticides. You can find the full list and details from the Environmental Working Group. - The Dirty Dozen: • These are produce items found to have the most pesticide residues in them. These were washed and sometimes even peeled before testing. • These are the items I recommend to buy organic whenever you can, or avoid when you can’t. - The Clean Fifteen: • These are produce items that are found to have the least amount of pesticide residues in them. I still recommend to buy organic whenever possible, but these are ok when organic isn’t available. - Also, it doesn’t mean there are NO pesticides found in the “clean 15”, just in a lesser amount - More info found at EWG.org #ewg - Keep in mind if you’re dealing with health issues, gut problems, toxicity, poor immune health, imbalanced hormones, etc... If you've been hearing lots of talk about the Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen lately, here's why: the EWG (Environmental Working Group) just released the 2019 Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen List as part of its Annual Shopper’s Guide to help "us" identify which #fruits and #vegetables are the most (#Dirty12) and least (#Clean15) contaminated with pesticides. . . Say what? Basically, the EWG recommends that when "we" buy any produce on the #DirtyDozen list that we buy the #organic version. And it's ok to buy the non-organic version of the #produce on the #CleanFifteen list. . . And what if the organic version is too expensive or not available? That's a reality (an unfortunate one) for many. But it's important to note that the EWG still recommends you eat produce, even if it's not organic because “The health benefits of a diet rich in fruits and vegetables outweigh the risks of pesticide exposure." . .
