When I first moved to England alone as a teenager, I was still thinking irrationally, so there were absolutely zero worries, no homesickness, just pure excitement looking forward to change. I think I was born with an adventure bug, as I always knew that I will move around in my life ever since I was a kid. I question why, as there were no premise to my thoughts, - I just knew. . * Sometimes I fear living in the same place for a long period of time, seeing it turning into a groundhog day with each passing moment. Perhaps that’s why in almost 8 years in England I moved 7 times. I fear stagnation, and by fearing it I sometimes get into its trap. You know how they say “like attracts like”, the same way negative thought attracts negative. Living in fear of stagnation can bring that said stagnation upon you. . * People ask - where are you from, where is your home - and these are the questions that make me most uncomfortable. How can a person, who doesn’t have a desire of having one home can answer these questions? It’s so beautiful to have that one place to connect to, somewhere close to the loved ones, somewhere you feel grounded, feel like you belong. I wish I had that. And maybe I do, but I don’t see it yet. * I’m not a reckless, irrational teenager anymore. Change doesn’t come too easily now either. Whenever faced with change, I start overthinking, rationalising, coming up with reasons not to. But why not? Perhaps we should embrace change more easily, for change is constant, and once it stops.. can you say you’re still growing? . * Tell me about your experiences - have you always lived in the same place all your live? Have you moved? Why did you choose one or another? . . . . Evening everyone.....Julie @joojums on the last stop of the #greatwestway takeover for today. I am a little further east into Wiltshire where you stumble across the very picturesque village of Avebury with its incredible Neolithic stone monument and distinctive three stone circles and henge. Once there you can stroll around the village, have lunch in the lovely pubs or tea in the tea rooms. You can walk through the lower stones and around the top of the stone circles taking in the lovely countryside views and end up at the education centre near the manor. There is plenty of parking available around the village and dogs are welcomed. The charming Avebury Manor House, is a grade1 listed early 16th century manor house and its pretty surrounding garden is owned and managed by the National Trust. It is located in the centre of the village next to St James's Church which is also worth an explore. I hope you have enjoyed todays ‘tour’ of my end of the Great Westway. I am heading home to rest my feet and plan tomorrow’s route where there might be a bit of medieval architecture to add to the eras already covered. Have a lovely evening everyone.
