I love flowers and tulips are among my favourites because they are so colourful! I captured the ones in the picture during the Annual Tulip Display in Bendigo (150 km from Melbourne). I have a funny story as well. Shortly after I got to know my husband, he bought me... Warning! The chrysanthemums in a pot.
I associate them with the cemetery only, since if you decide to visit any cemetery in Poland at the beginning of November, you will see thousands of candles and tons of flowers of all kinds (but mostly the chrysanthemums). This is how we celebrate the All Saints' Day on the 1st of November in Poland. ️ So, can you imagine my face expression when I got the Chrysanthemums? Simply priceless.
Our love was already strong enough back then to survive "the flower fail" and the chrysanthemums got a completely new meaning.
What flowers do you like? Do you have any funny story with them?

Jakie lubicie kwiaty? Macie jakieś śmieszne historie z nimi związane?

Lime, Caramel, Apple, Hazelnut
You may have seen my attempts at this one on my stories, and I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’m happy with it! It consists of a brown sugar crumble base, hazelnut cake, salted butter, mirror glaze, caramel, lime cremeux, vanilla chiboust, pate cigarette joconde sponge, apple and lime confit.
What do you think? Do you want the recipe?
It's National Reconciliation Week. This year's theme is "Grounded in Truth: Walk together in courage" - it is time for all Australians to learn about First Nations histories, cultures and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Currently on view in our gallery space is Albert Namatjira, Western Arrernte, Ghost Gum, c. 1950 , watercolour. Collection, Bendigo Art Gallery.
Albert Namatjira (1902-1959) was a Western Arrernte-speaking Aboriginal man from the MacDonnell Ranges of Central Australia. Namatjira became the most famous Indigenous artist of his generation, leaving a strong legacy that resonates to this day and is evident in the works of his peers and relatives. Namatjira grew up in the Lutheran Hermannsburg Mission where in 1934 he encountered the watercolour landscapes of artist and traveller Rex Battarbee. Taken by Batterbee's European depictions of the landscape, Namatjira taught himself how to use watercolours, later accompanying Batterbee on a painting trip through the Western MacDonnell Ranges. What followed was an outpour of luminous landscapes capturing the ethereal hues of the central Australian desert from dawn to dusk.
Snapped this one Friday morning in the few minutes the sun was able to get through the clouds, Rosalind Park is looking very nice right now!
