The Chipicas Town Houses are four free single structures, which were constructed inside a private greenhouse in downtown Valle de Bravo, Mexico. . The vertical design was utilized to save the greater part of the vegetation, and to lessen the houses' carbon footprint. . The Chipicas Houses were planned with two sides of the façade made of floor to roof windows and the other two sides with a skin made of wooden lattice grid to create a sense of privacy. . Each of the four houses is built with three floors and an extra rooftop garden, comprising of two rooms, 2.5 bathrooms, living and eating area, TV room, kitchen, and pantry. . The logic behind the design was straightforward: . The building shouldn't be tacky or gaudy, it should primarily utilize locally sourced materials, and the design should be timeless and should mirror and blend with the lush landscape.

It was constructed from the salvaged parts of the original structure's collapsed roof. . The site was extremely constricted with walls on three sides, and with only one side facing towards an open space. . The space was further restricted by a mature tree standing right in the middle. . The aim of the project was to embody harmony by integrating the outdoors with the indoors. . So instead of totally demolishing the old structures and removing the old tree, the architects found ways to build around the existing elements. . The Tea House is divided in three parts: . A covered waiting area was built facing the garden and pool, with an enclosed tea house at ground level and library on the first floor where a small triangular balcony extends around the existing tree . Each interior has a well defined personality, using playful geometry. . Rough finished concrete walls, ceilings and floors add up to the spirituality of the place. . The massive organic shapes seem to detach themselves from the walls, creating such stunning visual effects.
