#CollectiveTakeover: Hi, I am @michaelschauerphoto and today, I will be showing you a bit of my work. Nowadays, I mostly live for the planet's cold northern landscapes and I try to capture them in a unique, or at least, personal way. As I am massively melodramatic, every series that I shoot and edit is treated like a song with an intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and climax. There needs to be a good balance between all elements and colors but it can also be satisfying to throw this principle out of the window for a frontal confrontation with the material. My ultimate goal is to make my viewers feel what they feel when they finish a great book.⠀ ⠀ This first image shows an evening excursion through Disko Bay, Greenland. The soft light gives the icebergs a unique coloring and the small boat shows their scale. The sunset bordering on the black beach gives the higher up place structure and leads the viewer’s eye towards the radar station that can easily be missed. I saw this throughout my childhood when my mother would often joke about gaining weight. Later on, I have realized it was her way of processing the changes that her body was going through. I then was asked to accompany her across Europe, which I will always be grateful for as Concert photography has become a very special thing for me. It is incredible to see `the other side‘ of a concert, feeling the excitement from an artists point of view, staying on stage and seeing all these happy faces of happy dancing people in the crowd.
