Destination that has surprised me the most so far this year: Ireland {swipe to see all 6 photos} ⠀ In late February/early March I spent just over a week exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and northwest part of the island. Some highlights included: - Sleeping in a real life castle (Ballynahinch Castle, Connemara). - Exploring Donegal’s beautiful beaches and sea cliffs, especially Slieve League Cliffs. - Staying in an old lighthouse keepers cottage at Fanad Head Lighthouse. - Touring Glenveagh Castle and the gorgeous scenery of Glenveagh National Park. - Driving around the Mullaghmore Peninsula of country Sligo, stopping at castles, sea cliffs and beaches. - Seeing Mayo’s Downpatrick Head and Dun Briste Sea Stack (featured in main image). - Hiking and learning about Ballycroy National Park and stunning Achill Island in country Mayo. - Visiting Galway’s Connemara National Park and nearby Kylemore Abbey, including hiking the Upper Diamond Hill Trail. ⠀ I have an entire blog post featuring our day-by-day itinerary if you want to check it out (linked in my bio) #Ireland

Fanad Head Lighthouse during storm Hannah We almost did not make it. Time chased us on Saturday to photograph the passage of the storm. The strong wind and first of all gusts were very dangerous, especially on the rocks.
