There's a whole bunch of confusion out there when it comes to Intermittent Fasting. But IF does not have to be as much of a struggle as it may seem to be.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

FAST 16 HRS, EAT 8 HRS⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our bodies don't enter the fasted state until at least 12 hours after our last meal.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
WAIT 4-5 HRS AFTER WAKING UP⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Push your first meal 4-5 hours after waking up to get started with IF. It is flexible and based off the time you wake up.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

CALORIC DEFICIT⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The key to losing fat is being in a caloric deficit. Utilizing IF makes this easier because it gets our bodies back into our natural fed vs fasted states as opposed to eating around the clock like the Standard American Diet suggests.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

DRINK WATER⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hydration is important whether you are fasting or not. Often times it is easy to mistake hunger for thirst. Drinking plenty of water will help you tremendously with IF. Aim for 0.5-1.0oz per lb of BW⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

DRINK CAFFEINE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Caffeine is a stimulant that has an appetite reducing affecting. Not only that but it will give you an energy boost during your fast. Aim for 0.4-1.4 mg per lb of BW⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Intermittent Fasting won’t just magically make you lose weight. If you eat all of your calories within a smaller window of time then you’re just more likely to eat less. If you manage to eat the same number of calories or more then not much will change
.
Of course, there are other benefits of IF that are still being investigated but they won’t make you actually lose weight without being in a caloric deficit
.
Of these 3 methods, the easiest to sustain seems to be the Lean Gains method. What all 3 have in common is that they create an environment where you are more likely to eat less calories overall per week
.
If you choose to do IF then I would suggest starting with the Lean Gains method and even going with a 10 hour feeding window and then building to an 8 hour window. Personally, I find the other 2 methods a bit too extreme and wouldn’t suggest them. At the end of the day, fasting or no fasting, as long as you consistently stay in a calorie deficit and lift weights, you’ll have great results

IF is an easy eating strategy that condenses the amount of time you eat into an 8-hour window. All you have to do is divide your day into a “fasting” window and an “eating window”
.
Benefits of #intermittentfasting include
✅ An increase in strength gains
✅ A decrease in body fat percentage
✅ Improved mood and energy
.
In the Fasting window, you can consume zero calorie beverages (water, Black coffee, tea)
.
In the eating window, you can eat what you normally eat (I recommend KETO options ) You should still be drinking water and you can have coffee or tea with good fats to curb your appetite
.
In the above example, the fasting window is 16 hours and the eating window is 8. There are other methods but this one is the most utilized, sustainable and easiest to implement for #intermittentfastingbeginner .
The timing of your 2 windows can be whatever suits your schedule.

The windows can be whatever suits your schedule the best. The example above is probably best for someone who works 9-5 but if you work a night shift, you can flip it by 12 hours. Basically just wait about 5 hours after you’ve woken up to start eating and stop eating about 3 hours before you go to bed
.
At the end of the day, if you’re trying to lose a few lbs and if your schedule and lifestyle meshes well with Intermittent Fasting then definitely give it a shot

INSTRUCTION

Melt butter & mix with 1 cup almond flour, 1/4 cup erythritol, and pinch of salt. Press evenly into an 8×8 baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 20 minutes at 350 °F.

Cool for 10 minutes.

Zest a lemon into a mixing bowl, juice all the lemons, add the eggs, 3/4 cup erythritol, 3/4 cup almond flour & pinch of salt and combine.

Pour the filling onto the crust & bake for 25 minutes.

Sprinkle with powdered erythritol.
