This is the infamous serum from my previous post The @a.florenceskincare Super Serum (PR sample) So, we've met. You've seen my immediate #firstimpressions to this ethereal serum and my perhaps IG inappropriate #skincareOrgams I apologise in advance But you gorgeous skincare loving people are the only ones who truly understands such an experience. So let me spill the beans: SKIN CONTEXT This Danish winter has been freezing and dry. Two external factors that dries out our skin. And for this gal with dry reactive-prone rosacea it's been a struggle. I've had to cut using retinol entirely for several weeks. In stead I've needed all the help I could get. Enter the @a.florenceskincare Super Serum. I'm here for the moisturizing oil squalane, skin barrier hugging ceramides and its blend of antioxidants (see ingredients in comments) HOW I USE IT AM: After hyaluronic acid+CEFerulic, and before my moisturizer. PM: After niacinamide, before moisturizer. PERFORMANCE I've been using this 3-6 times a week for the past month to target my extra dry skin - so I still expect to see results after continuous use. Although the weather has become milder, I would say that adding this serum to my routine has brought my skin from extra dry and tight back to its normal state. CONCLUSION This gem will continue to be in my skincare arsenal to pull out whenever my skin starts acting up. I foresee that it could be a great support when I start to introduce retinol again. #FirstImpressions: Ritesh Batra's 2013 film The Lunchbox is a fine example of how a film impresses its core theme on our minds through the opening scene. It is a movie where in the almost mechanical lifestyle of a buzzing city, the lives of two people cross paths in the most unexpected manner and end up confiding in each other - sharing their thoughts and emotions. What, then, should the opening of the film be? Batra pulls magic here. What better than the constantly buzzing local trains to represent the mechanical lifestyle of Mumbai? He opens the film with the shot of two local trains, on separate platforms, crossing each other on the way. Very soon in his film, two lives will cross each other in a similar manner, and this opening shall become a beautiful testament to that. Batra also sets a wonderful tone in this opening through music and slow-motion. We don't identify local trains with the emotions of soothing music and contemplative slow-mo. We identify them with the mechanics of raucous, rattling sounds and fast relentlessness. But that is exactly the magic Batra is willing to create - in attaching the contradictory soothing piano music and slow-mo to the mechanics of the local trains, he is summoning us to look at the cityscape through a sentimental lens; and in doing so, he is painting an emotional portrait of the city itself- the city whose rigour and population can often numb us down, but can also equally provide us with the opportunity to come across someone in the most unexpected ways. First impressions round-up ⁣ ⁣ @ultravioletteau supreme screen hydrating facial sunscreen SPF 50+ uva + uvb broad spectrum (pr): all I can say for now is WOW. I am blown away by this sunscreen. Stay tuned for a full review in a week or two.⁣ ⁣ @goodmolecules niacinamide serum from @beautylish: this is working really well for me! I am noticing that my skin is more refined and my pores don’t look as congested. The texture is really nice, though I have only experienced some slight balling up once when I used it with the Sunday Riley tidal cream. Apart from that, I am happy so far! ⁣ ⁣ @goodmolecules hyaluronic acid serum: I am hooked on this. My skin really does just drink it up. The texture is nice and watery and it glides onto the skin like silk. I can tell I am already going to love this! I should also mention that these Good Molecules serums are only $6 a pop! ⁣ ⁣ @indeedlabs hydraluron: I am probably the last person on this planet to try this cult classic. My initial impression wasn’t a good one, as I thought it left my skin feeling tight. Apart from that first application, I have only good things to say about it! I am really enjoying mixing it with the Good Molecules hyaluronic acid serum both AM and PM. I think I get the best out of both the products when I do that and my skin has been loving it! ⁣ ⁣ @farmacybeauty hydrating coconut gel sheet mask: I showed this in my stories already but I wanted to post about it as well. I was so impressed by this sheet mask! The texture was so nice and I loved how creamy the essence was. Expensive, but really great if you want to treat yourself!
