Busy preparing for my upcoming art market, and updating my packaging, so not much time for Instagram lately. The new packaging, by the way, is going to be a killer! Most of you voted for flat packaging (as opposed to rolled) in my IG stories the other day, and I've come up with a method that is more or less guaranteed to stay flat, no matter how roughly the packet is handled by the post office. But more about that later when the packaging is actually ready. In the meanwhile, here's my new folksy little darling. Looking for sea glass is addictive! I can’t go to a beach anymore without searching for some. I’ve noticed that the type of sea glass varies depending on which part of the UK coast it’s from too! Lee of @bonbiforest lives in Cornwall and she kindly sent me some pieces she didn’t have a use for (she’s a total sea glass nerd too and collects loads of it!) ✨ and her pieces were so colourful! It’s my dream to hunt for sea glass on the Cornwall coast some day. We’ve found some lovely pieces along the Suffolk coast, but the colours have been limited to clear/white, a particular shade of green - green seems rare in general on the Suffolk coast - and occasionally brown pieces. I find this all completely fascinating, imagining what they once were and how long they’ve been in the sea. I love how time and tide wears away the sharp edges of the shards of glass and makes them into little frosted, opaque gems. This one was a commission and has the most beautiful emerald green cloth cover! You all know how much I love to paint on a book with a cloth cover. It’s a beautiful little book so I wanted to do it justice. The owner has seen it and he loves it, so I can now share it here with you! By the way, I don’t know whether most/any of you know that I’m a self-taught artist? I didn’t go to art college and have had no formal art lessons, apart from basic GCSE art (I got an A!). New lino print... Provisionally called 'Loads of Crows and a Sparrow' because I haven't counted them all yet. . (More importantly you can play spot the Sparrow) . Hand burnished onto Somerset Satin paper in a limited edition of 50. I can't wait to find out how many crows that means I am printing, but pretty sure its 50 sparrows!
