There are many things you want to keep in mind when you go to take a shot! So here are 5 common mistakes to correct if you're shooting isn't where you want it to be.

▶️ This is a big one. Is your shooting training effective? Guess what. Shooting a single ball at net isn't effective training. It's inefficient and depending what you're doing, ineffective! You want to deliberately work on your shooting! Use a wall if you can to get many reps in and analyze your technique. Also do game like drills that will help you in those situations!

▶️ Repetition, repetition, repetition! Don't let lack of practice hold you back! Once you know how to strike a ball, you need to go out there and do it over and over again! Using a wall or shooting 6 yards out from goal is a great way to get plenty of reps in quickly!

▶️ A very common mistake is incorrect body position. Are you leaning back? Plant foot in the wrong place? How you approach the ball, your follow through, and how your body is leading up to the strike, during the strike, and after is very important!

▶️ I mention this one all the time but a common mistake with a lot of players is a failure to lock their ankle when striking the ball! You want your ankle locked with your toes pointing down. Keep it solid!

▶️ Lastly, poor contact on the ball. This can happen by using the wrong part of your foot, or just not hitting the ball cleanly. Generally, you want to hit the middle of the ball and use a dense part of your foot!

During a game of football, your body temperature can increase to over 39 degrees. In an attempt to reduce internal heat, the body increases its rate of sweat production. Professional players can sweat as much as two litres during match play even when the temperature is only 10 degrees. For a 75 kg player, this sweat loss equates to 2% dehydration and if enough fluid isn’t consumed, your performance will suffer. Dehydration of this magnitude reduces the ability to perform repeated sprints and can even impair the ability to perform technical skills such as dribbling. In a dehydrated state, your body temperature and heart rate increases, while you deplete your carbohydrate stores quicker and perceive the exercise to be more intense. This means you have to work so much harder just to perform at the same intensity.

✅How much water you should drink:
✔️Consume 500ml 2-3 hours before the training;
✔️Consume 250ml 20 min before the session;
✔️Consume 200ml every 20 min during training session;
✔️Consume 1 liter for every kilogram lost in weight within 2 hours after the session.

Also use your arms to further put the opponent out of balance and make it even more difficult for him to get the ball
