Friends, do you want to know how I learned photography?⠀ By photographing squirrels.⠀ ⠀ A bag of unsalted nuts (for their health) gave me unfettered access to willing, and adorable participants. ⠀ ⠀ It was a low pressure way to have a moving, breathing subject in front of my camera without having to torture my cat, or have my boyfriend (now husband) rethink his relationship with me (kidding, I think).⠀ ⠀ I had spent years wanting to jump in and be the best at something, to only get frustrated with myself and give up too soon. ⠀ ⠀ Something about photography was different- I gave myself the patience to learn, and accepted the fact that I wasn't creating little squirrel Last Supper's from the start. (But, someone should definitely do that #freeidea)⠀ ⠀ If you're thinking about giving up on something new today- step away amigo. Deep breaths. It's only January.
