Sean Carmeli, 21, who served in Golani and was killed in the battle with Hamas terrorists in Gaza last sunday was a lone soldier who come from Texas to serve in the IDF. Fearing that his funeral will be poorly attended, as his entire family lives in the states and his funeral was held at 11:30pm to give time ti his parents to arrive from Texas - his friends spread a request on social media channels for people to come and to give Sean a decent farewell. But they couldn't imagine how deep and how far their request would reach, more than 40,000 people attended Sean's funeral. The roads of the cemetery and all the major roads in Haifa were clogged with people who wanted to honor Sean in his last way.
