So I've summoned my introverted self, to tell you why I’m in Orlando, FL.
Im going to be attending @kristashirleyyoga’s 200hr Ashtanga Yoga Apprenticeship Program @theyogashala ☺️ I am so grateful for this opportunity and VERY excited!
If you've been following my #yogajourney you might recall one year ago I walked into Krista Shirley’s Yoga Shala. From that day as she held space for me a seed was planted.
I stayed for a month to practice there and followed a route to attend an intensive/workshop in Phoenix with her too as #vanlife continued w/ @allpathsarethesame
Her teachings shine light into my heart with clarity, possibility, devotion and passion.
Follow her (& the shala), and you’ll be so inspired & glad you did! ✨
Back from this mornings practice and it feels so amazing to be with a yoga community again!

#GarbhaPindasana (Womb Embryo Posture)

Garbha means Womb, Pinda means Embryo. The posture gets its name because the person performing it resembles a human fetus in the womb with some differences
. -Benefits
. -It relaxes the whole spine, especially the muscles of the lumbar spine.
. -Helpful for abdominal cramps and strengthens all abdominal muscles.
. . -It cleans and tones the liver and spleen and strengthens the uterus and rectum.
. -Garbha Pindasana is very effective in opening the hip joints even further making your lotus more comfortable.
. -The abdomen remains shapely and slim due to total contraction during the posture.
. -The digestive system of the body improves due to the regular practice of this posture. It also treats all kinds of stomach illnesses.
. . -This asana is believed to help in a spiritual union between one's mind and soul.

Contraindications:
. -This asana should not be practiced with problems of the hips, knees or ankles.
. -This asana should not be practiced if any abdominal surgery is done recently.
Yoga is like music for me: the sound of my breath makes me wanna move and once I connect my breath with the movement I feel absolute freedom ❤️️♀️

For me balance means consistent #dailypractice - I’ve found that with a combination of different yoga types but practice #ashtanga yoga as my foundation. #mypractice isn’t just asana though, it includes meditation, pranayama, mindfulness and so many other aspects. -

Still it is the daily intention that helps me keep it all in perspective, to see that I may feel light and floaty one day and heavy and tired the next; to understand that days when my emotions aren’t as stable pass and more stable days return; to always remember that calm mental focus one day may not be there the next day. -

Over time coming to a daily practice of any kind means that you see the specific waves but also begin to notice the steadiness in your commitment and inner work, and that experiences are just that - experience at the time - you really do have a stable, balanced center.

I chose this asana, as I can see on it the shape of a heart.
I am not on the team of people that say: “ I follow my mind”, don’t follow my heart.
I believe everything you feel, therefore, THINK, comes from the heart.
What we should do, it is to learn how to filter those feelings.
There is where the “mind” comes in.
So, in order to grow, as person, as yogi, as human being, we need to learn to listen to the soul.
Your soul is your heart.
Believe me, it is always going to give you the CORRECT answer.
The problem is that sometimes our ego decides not to listen.
Trust your heart, trust your soul and use the mind to filter it.
Everything is inside of your heart already.
We just need to be “awake” to see!
