Harvested my first lavender this morning...something I've dreamed of for years, ever since I first saw a picture of the lavender fields of Provence. French and English lavender - Lavendula dentata & lavendula angustifolia . French one is so much more common here with thicker leaves and a bit bulkier flowers. Needed to hunt down the English one in a local nursery where few of these pots were left, flowers seemed so fragile and not taken care of. French one found a spot in my herb spiral and the English hopefully will pick up and thrive among other blooming herbs in my flower/pollinator messy patch . . . Lavanda francesa vs inglesa.
