Hoooo weeee. This is a real uncommon gem that popped up on Reverb. An '86 Hamer Sceptor. It's brutish, it's severe, and it appears to be the product of a creative philosophy that involved a lot of "more-is-more" talk, and you know how I feel about riding that wave. This is still one of my favorite iterations of the weaponized Explorer. I'm a sucker for deep, exaggerated bevels, and these are mirrored on the rear of the guitar as well, resulting in a fully sculpted, sword-like body. Very fucking harsh. Let's Wish A Happy Birthday to our legendary guitarist Mr. MICK MARS ( born Robert Alan Deal May 4, 1951 ) is an American guitarist, musician, songwriter, he is best known for being the lead guitarist for the MÖTLEY CRÜE. After playing for years in various bands such as (White Horse, Vendetta and The Jades), around the Los Angeles area, Mars placed an ad in a local paper to which Mötley Crüe founder/bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee responded. Mars was hired on the spot. He released with the band first album "Too Fast For Love" in 1982. The follow-up album, 1983's "Shout At The Devil" put these Hollywood bad boys on the metal map as Mars and the band dominated 80's metal. They released three multi-platinum albums in row; 1985's "Theatre Of Pain", 1987's "Girls Girls Girls" and their most commercially successful album to date, 1989's "Dr. Feelgood". Mars has contributed songwriting to John LeCompt , the former member of Evanescence and the other band members of Machina, and to the Swedish band Crashdïet. Mars played guitar on the title track of Hinder's 2008 album "Take It To The Limit" and contributed a guitar solo to the song "Into The Light" by Papa Roach on their 2009 album "Metamorphosis". All I can say is that the thick, nasal distortion found on almost all Mötley albums is instantly recognizable, and when it’s combined with Mick’s unique style it creates a sound that blends well with the rest of the band’s instrumentation. And our legendary guitar solo of the day is the solo performed in "HOME SWEET HOME" by the legend himself. "Home Sweet Home" is a song Mötley Crüe.
