Happy release day to @patternscout and congrats on your first garment pattern! I tested the brand new #psferntop a couple weeks ago and have some thoughts to share. Here is what I like about this top. It’s a fitted style top with no closures that is easily popped on over the head (and popped off easily too without having to dislocate a shoulder). The seam lines add an opportunity for color blocking or detail stitching, which can dress up the design of you like. It also works great for fluid or more structured fabrics! I used a lightweight lyocell denim from @joann_stores for mine, and am quite pleased with the way it moves. The only pattern adjustment I did besides grading between sizes was a full bicep adjustment, which is standard practice for me. This ended up with a slightly longer bodice, which I compensated for by shortening the skirt a lil bit. Overall a fun and easy top to make. Back home in Columbus and back to work on this sweater! I just barely finished knitting the button band before leaving on our trip to California, and decided against bringing it along to do the buttons and finishing work in favor of having a whole week of true vacation - no day job work, and no design work. I opted for sock knitting, working on the second socks of two pairs that I started earlier this year. Now that I’m back home though, I’m excited to put the finishing touches on Silver Fir Cardigan! This beauty will be getting buttons today (and the ends woven in), and I’ll be working on the pattern as well. Finished my #wikstenshift this weekend! ✨ I definitely could have gone a size smaller but I’m digging the relaxed boxy fit. The only mod I made was sizing up on the pockets.
