Is anyone in their grown-up “troublesome twos”? Where our favorite word is “Why?”… I’ve been working on myself recently. Maybe you noticed my feed changed a bit, or maybe social media keeps us farther apart than we knew. However, I’ve really started to question my own self. Asking: Dani, Why? Why do I need this? Why do I like that? Why have I always done it THIS way? I’m only 28, so if anyone knows if this phase ever ends, I’d love to know if there is an end in sight or if I should buckle up and get used to it. . As you may have guessed this was from the #100vaginas project. But this original poem from my brain, scrawled in my hand, from day 62, is all I’m sharing. No vulva. Because somehow today, the poem is all I need. . I feel that in the last couple years I’ve grown so much as a person that I think a younger me, a younger Dani would see me now and look up to me. That’s a profound thing. I got teary just by the thought of that. Yet, I don’t have it all figured out yet. Do we ever reach that? I have had to shed so much of my old self in order to make room for the woman I am now, that I can’t even imagine who I might be in another 5 years. But I’m ready for it. I’m here for it. I’m working on being better.
