Templo de Horus - EDFU El nombre de la ciudad tiene un significado asociado a la leyenda que le precede. ⚔️Se trata de la batalla entre el dios Horus y su tío Seth, que puso su punto y final en el lugar en el que hoy se encuentra su templo. Etbo (en copto) que significa «El lugar del castigo», ya que los enemigos del dios Horus eran conducidos a este lugar y allí eran castigados. De hecho este templo no solo es conocido por ser el templo de este dios, adorado desde los inicios de esta civilización. Es el templo mejor conservado del Antiguo Egipto y probablemente el más importante después del de Karnak (y es que difícil sería quitarle el puesto). Pero bueno, continuando con este maravilloso lugar… el templo se edificó durante la época Ptolemaica. El proyecto lo inició Ptolomeo III en el 237 a.C y fue inaugurado por Ptolomeo XII Filopátor (padre de la famosa Cleopatra VII). ⚠️Otra de las curiosidades de este templo es que inicialmente fue construido en piedra arenisca y edificado sobre un montículo natural de arena y rocas en medio de la llanura aluvial. Lo que provocaba que durante la crecida se transformaba en una isla en medio de las aguas de la inundación. Posteriormente, y al igual que Abu Simbel, con la construcción de una presa fue meticulosamente trasladado cerca de su emplazamiento original Venga va, una curiosidad más… Una de las inscripciones que aparecen en sus muros relata cómo el diseño fue obra del arquitecto Imhotep (responsable de la pirámide escalonada de Djoser). ⚠️Parece normal, pero no. De hecho se trataba de un arquitecto que fue elevado a la categoría de dios. Stela of Nachy in front of Osiris and Anubis (Stele of Nakhy, facing Osiris and Anubis) The stele of the Nachy was probably found in Deir el-Medineh. It comes from the New Kingdom, 18th - 19th Dynasty (1550 - 1186 BC) The upper register shown in this detail shows Nachy in the worship gesture before the gods Osiris and Anubis, in front of which stands a table with offerings. In the middle register on the left, Nachy and his wife Nefertari receive a libation offered by Amunuasu, a priest of courage and presumably son of Nefertari from a previous marriage. Further descendants follow in the lower register.
