When eating food that actually tastes good, some variation of following comments are typically thrown around:

• "it tastes so good, but is terrible for you"
• "there's all the bad stuff in here, so you know it's gonna taste good."

It's as if we are not allowed to enjoy our food just for the sake of enjoying it.

Food is a great source of pleasure & joy!! But unfortunately, this is so often overlooked because we get so wrapped up in the numbers/trying to eat all of the "right" things.

So here is a friendly weekend reminder that we can & should enjoy our food fully. No explanation required, no strings attached #foodandfearless

The mental & emotional toll that rigid dieting/exercising can take, whether we’re participating in or promoting it, does not discriminate based on body type.

When the relationship between eating & exercise is seen as transactional, it’s extremely difficult to find peace or enjoyment in either.

• Exercise is not a mandatory requirement to be able to eat.
• Both are morally neutral activities.

Game changer!
After only a couple of weeks of eating clean, and struggling to avoid eating my favorite "unclean" foods, my body started feeling different - it started feeling much better!
In time, my cravings sloooooowly started to disappear.
More time passed and I realized I no longer WANTED to eat the foods I previously loved and craved...
after all, they made me feel terrible.
Physically and emotionally.
Eating clean then became SO much easier.
I still think it's crazy I can sit with and watch family and friends eat anything and not feel tempted to eat it...because I honestly do not want to eat it.
If I hadn't lost my health and hit my rock bottom, I'm not sure I would have made the transition.
So, I have to give a shout out to, and thank my autoimmune disease for that.
If you're wondering what "eating clean" looks like for me, I eat according to the autoimmune protocol (AIP), but "eating clean" can look like just focusing on eating any REAL foods that do not have additives, preservatives, added sugars, artificial sweeteners, fake sauces, and avoiding unhealthy snacks and desserts, fast food, etc.
Disclaimer: When I started eating clean 100% of the time, I actually temporarily felt worse (physically and emotionally) before I felt better. Emotionally because I had years of using emotional eating as a coping mechanism to break.

How long did it take you to no longer want foods that were bad for you/for cravings to go away
What advice do you have for someone just starting to eat clean who is battling all kinds of cravings
A goal without a plan is just a wish.
The key to success is to making it a priority.
From experience, when I started scheduling working out/taking care of myself I started seeing results.
