I am 1 in 4 who had a miscarriage.  My baby had a heartbeat at 7 weeks, and had a heartbeat at 11 weeks, by 12 weeks I caught her with my bare hands and we had lost her at home.  I’m sharing this because if the “heartbeat law” existed, would I be questioned by law authorities if I had a miscarriage or that I gave myself an abortion?  This is what criminalizing abortion means. It is a woman’s choice and only a woman’s choice to have an abortion for whatever reason necessary. It should not be a decision made by the laws above her, by old white men in particular who still likely believe in immaculate conception, to control her. Whether you have ever had an abortion or not, I can only imagine that you would want to be assured of having a safe and legal one. The #heartbeatbill of Alabama and Other states not only make that impossible for women but it opens the door to botched abortions and puts women’s lives at risk, the lives of women who are already most at risk of failed pregnancies, failed healthcare and a failed society that shoves them to the bottom. This is a vote that is against women and women’s rights. Abortions will continue and if it has nothing to do with you, you have no right making a woman’s decision as to whether to have one or not. Support women’s choice now and always!
