This might be a little heavy for a Friday but I want to say a huge thank you if you replied to my Stories yesterday. It’s impossible to ever feel alone when I am surrounded by such an amazing and positive community like you! . I shared that I had a bit of a weird day around a few things and one of them was putting a price on my work and feeling confident in saying what that price is. . If you’ve ever freelanced or had your own creative business you will know that icky feeling of having to put a number on the worth of your work. But I got lots of amazing tips (seriously you were like a mini therapist in my pocket yesterday), and now I’m feeling much more confident. . So I wanted to share the tips that really helped me with this, just incase you ever need them too: 1) Know your work has value and truly believe in it - people will react to your vibes and how you value yourself (thank you @lapresqueparisienne for this tip) 2) One of my favourite ways to price something is to simply ask if I were the customer how much would I be willing to pay (loved this exercise from @cherylalba) 3) The first time you launch something you have to test the waters, if you get feedback that your pricing is off you can always change it (such a good perspective from @labellesociety) 4) When you put a price on something you are telling people what it is worth, making something that is of great value cheap will give people the wrong idea that it is not the best quality (@sienna.and.i) 5) Lastly (and coincidently) from the #lettersfromahopefulcreative podcast I listened to this morning - when people don’t pay enough for something of true value, they don’t appreciate it for it’s true value (and so with the example of a course, they wouldn’t put their full effort into showing up and learning) . If there’s any other helpful tips out there I’d really love to hear them! . “ Helsinki first view” . . Its start of spring here in Helsinki and still there was snowy patches as seen from top ,also it was very amusing to see the wind blowing from the top.
