Celebrating 10 years old this week with a high quality anniversary re-press on Lex records, which came with a cut-out mask, flexidisc of the Gazillion Ear remix and stickers. To me the album is a bit slap-dash and sounds unfinished in places. De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising, on multi-color splatter vinyl. One of the best hip-hop albums of all time! De La Soul are absolute legends, and in my personal opinion, this is their best album - it showcases just how fun and playful the group can be while still maintaining peak lyrical and production skill. This album just gives off such a carefree and relaxed vibe that it’s impossible to not be happy while listening. Side note: as a community, we need to give Prince Paul the props he deserves! I know he is a legend but I feel like a lot of hip-hop fans, especially newer ones, might not be giving the KING of sampling his just dues. His sampling technique is absolutely essential to making this album, and many others, so iconic.
