Cora's memorial service today was absolutely beautiful ❤️ @pinkdominique did a beautiful performance of "For Good" from the musical Wicked, my father in law, sister @lenahoy, mom @tracolette, and @derekaveragedad10 shared touching messages, our ward had an outpouring of service in organizing the event, and so many came out to support our family ❤️ And lastly, SO many of you wore red or donated blood today in Cora's honor! . The ball is rolling!! Last week, I posted that we were in LA and we were at our last appt with our institutes Heart transplant team. Our institute is NOT where Camilo will be getting his heart transplant as we are going through UCLA. Although our institute is not doing the heart transplant, our institute still had us go through their protocol and we had to go through their heart transplant approval process. Camilo’s file was sent over to the committee to vote on for eligibility and approval and they approved him!! So what does all this mean? UCLA is officially taking over his file and his care. We meet with UCLA’s transplant team next week! He will go through their heart transplant evaluation process ( which most of the testing has been done already) and then we will discuss his care plan and when is the best time to list him and so forth. We are looking at a pretty lengthy appt next week. They told us to expect about 5 hours. Now that our care has been taken over by UCLA the feelings have set in even more! We are trying our hardest to prepare ourselves mental for everything as everything is feeling more real. The great thing is that although there is anxiousness and nerves, there is also undeniable peace. Peace that we know only our God has given us. A peace that we feel through our bones and confirms that we are in the right place, on the right path. We are so blessed for that! We ask that you continue to pray that Camilo feels that same peace. That meeting the new team, the new cardiologist give him the same comfort as his current care team gives him. That he feels at ease with all that upcoming appts and testing. I've told you all some of what I learned from Cora, but what did she teach you?

It's interesting. That even though Cora's on the other side, I haven't stopped praying for her. She's in heaven, what could she possibly need from me? But I still do. I don't pray for her to heal anymore, because she no longer has a body. My prayers have just...shifted a bit. The things I pray for her have changed. Cora has taught me such a deeper meaning to prayer. #hlhs #chd #heartmom #angel #prayer

Cora's Facebook page has gone viral, so I've been getting non-stop messages from friends as well as strangers all day, as well as thousands of comments on today's post. I just wanted to make this post to let everyone know that I do not intend on replying to any of the messages. I'm just way too overwhelmed. I am reading them though, so don't take it personal. As for the comments, I've read all of them on my IG posts but Cora's page has literally thousands and I can't keep up, so I'm not able to read all of them.
