Just spent a most splendid day at @fearnecotton Happy Place Festival in sunny Chiswick house. It really was the most magical setting. The sun shone down on all the yoga mats and the grounds were filled with wonderful people, all getting together to feel the good vibes and explore what it means to be happy. I was thrilled to host my workshop in the ‘mindful and meditation’ tent and with no visual aids at my disposal it pushed me in a whole new direction. I decided to encourage people to use their imaginations and focus on gut reactions to colour. I absolutely loved it and this whole experience has encouraged me to continue to work and learn and share how people can create their happy place at home. Our homes hold us, it’s where we can truly be ourselves, let go and retreat from this crazy world!. It’s important to get it right, and there is no blueprint to great design. The enigmatic @russellbrand talked today about how we need to find our own religion, our own set of values to guide us through life. I’d add we also need to work out our own way to decorate our homes. Drop the fear, blockout the trends, ignore good intentioned advise and make our own way. I was the busiest today!!! My bedroom finally feels like home.

It’s been almost 2 months since I posted in my main feed. Wanna know why? Perfectionism and her mean cousin named Fear. We’ve had so much life happen since May, and I wanted to write up all the things and share the photos all in the “right” order and not just in my stories. Except...that hasn’t happened and time just keeps ticking by. So instead, I’m just going to post a picture of my new rug.Because it makes me happy. And that’s what I want to post. Things that make me happy and things I know will make you happy too. Not because it’s perfect or in order or because I have the exact right words to say at that moment.
