Plastic #4, LDPE, Low-Density Polyethylene probably my second least favorite plastic. The first being styrofoam. (YUCK!)  Why yes, I do have a notebook page dedicated to ranking all the plastics #hotornot  Plastic #4 = NOT  This type of plastic is used for grocery bags, plastic wrap on items being shipped and is the water-proof inner lining on things like coffee cups and milk cartons.   It's considered to be a "safe" plastic or at least less toxic than others, but it's a film and it's worthless.   Just because something theoretically can be recycled doesn't mean it IS BEING RECYCLED.  Honestly, being told, "bUt It'S rEcYcLaBle!" is one of my biggest pet peeves. It's ok that it's trash, just own up to it. ❤️  We have to remember, recycling is a business, not a charity. In order to recycle something, there has to be a market for it... which is the problem with a lot of plastic. Only 9% of all the plastic ever made has actually been recycled. 9%!!  Sure, technically we CAN recycle plastic but there's just no point, incentive, or value in the end product.  This. Is. A. Design. Flaw.   I am actually thrilled about the recycling ban China put in place.
