It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself and make happiness a priority. It’s necessary! So why don’t we stop chasing the ‘how to be a good Mom’ question and start being the happy Mom instead? It’s not about being a good Mom or being the best Mom, it’s finding what motivates and fulfills you to be your best so you can bring your best self to Motherhood. Right? . We think we have to have the house perfectly clean at all times, help our kids with their homework, research and deliver a presentation that wows our client and still have a hot, homemade meal on the dinner table at home!  Of course, in reality, it’s pretty hard to do all of this at the same time, so just choosing one thing at a time I can focus on and do it well has helped me put my best foot forward at any of my roles be a mother, home maker or marketing strategist. . If you are like most working moms who travel consistently I know, you may feel like you’re forever coming up short when it comes to doing enough, giving enough and being enough for your kids. I have felt the same for a long time since my son was born. And somehow with time I have learnt to wrestle that guilt! Recently I got some DMS after my last post with messages like “how do you manage being away from your kid for days or a whole week on business trips” ‍ . My take.... I have learned that giving up the elusive quest to be a super-mom who does everything ‘just right’ is the only way I can ever have a chance to enjoy the journey of motherhood, without being anxious, guilty and exhausted. After all what matters is who we are for our children happy, good-humored, and a role model for the values we believe in! Just focusing on what works for me and my family matters! And I don’t care about the ‘good enough’ bar that is set by any society!
