Lightning ⚡️ strikes again!!! I am humbled and more than grateful. If I may expose myself a little here, many days I was among the first to reach school before 8:00AM and the last student to leave after 12:00AM. And when I left there I had to get up at 4:00AM to reach my job on time. I had to take on SOME group projects like I was in a group of one. I had to deny myself sleep to complete assignments. And I was in church every Sunday and at club meetings every Wednesday. Plus a whole host of other extracurricular activities. Shout out to Starbucks and my mom. Self-reflection Sunday. ... I was a different woman when I began college 2 years ago. I was totally unsure of myself...The only thing I was sure of was I had a lifelong dream of being a Registered Nurse, and I felt like time was running out to follow my dream. I was 34, I have 3 kids, low income, not in good shape...the odds were stacked against me. .... Fast forward to today and I’m officially in the RN program, expected graduation date of May 2020, I’m an elected Officer of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, I carry a 3.8 gpa, I have lost 70 lbs and am in the best shape of my life (lots of room for improvement!), I’ve learned how to better budget my life, and where I once saw doubt, I’m now seeing dreams come true... ... If you want to do something..whether it’s lose weight, get a degree, leave a toxic relationship.. please know there is always a way. You already have inside of you what it takes to succeed.
