Aaannnddd done! . #TourdeFleece2019 is a wrap! . My goals were to spin everyday , to make a dent in my #HelloYarn club fiber (7 bags down, 8 with my pre-tour spin!), and I was going to spin for a few special projects but only 1 of 3 of those happened. Oops... . So today is a 'wash' day for my final 5 skeins (on the left). And then photos. . I spent yesterday cleaning the house (booooo!), winding off skeins, plying my last bobbin, and admiring the finished yarn piles that are being posted (which is one of THE best parts #amiright). . Stats (cause I know ya like 'em): - Total spun 48 oz (that's 3 lbs of wool!!!) - Total yardage: 2,564 yds (2345 m) . And what's most exciting for me is that - this might be the first time since my first tour in 2011 - ALL my bobbins are cleared, all my skeins are tagged, all my yardage is measured... . My third and final yarn for the Tour de Fleece. . While our riders challenged themselves in the mountains, I challenged myself with a new art yarn technique. This is a core spun yarn, but occasionally I swapped hands and allowed the core yarn to wrap around the fibre instead of vice versa. Pretty chuffed with the result. . Spun from a blend of 100% Australian merino #greatsouthernyarn mill ends dyed with avocado pits; recycled sari silk; and undyed suri alpaca locks.
