Nozzano Castle is a small medieval castle in Toscana, Italy. It was built on an isolated hill back in the times of the Republic of Lucca that was competing with its rival Pisa for more control. The castle was a key stronghold and one of the most modern by medieval standards. It was seized and destroyed several times and renovated in the 14th century. Sigmaringen castle is an early medieval castle (11th century) in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was totally rebuilt in the 19th century after a massive fire. The only medieval structure is its tower. The interesting thing is its recent history - during WWII members of the Nazi-backed French Vichy regime were relocated to the castle following the Allied invasion of France in 1944. Rock of Cashel, Tipperary, Ireland (Reminds me a bit of Lord of the Rings for some reason ) You’ll find the Rock of Cashel filled with tourists according to Discover Ireland. This place holds significance in Ireland’s history and folklore. The patron saint of Ireland, St Patrick is said to have arrived t this spot in AD 432. He then baptized King Aengus, Ireland’s first Christian ruler. There are other historically important legends here too. As tangible reminders the Rock of Cashel today has many mediveal monuments. A 12th-century round tower with a High Cross is of the oldest surviving building on the Rock. Cormac's Chapel is one of the earliest and finest churches built in the Romanesque style. There is also a 13th century Gothic cathedral, a 15th-century castle along with the Hall of the Vicars. And most interesting of them all, you’ll find the original Cross of St. Patrick here! A secret place..... This place is secretive so I’ve got no information for you. Just admire this beautiful manor house though. You can almost imagine a life like ‘Downton Abbey’ here. @thedouglasdutton told me this place is nicknamed ‘Manor Mort Subtite’. The house is probably abandoned.
