One of the most common advices that people keep throwing like confetti is, "Your own expectations hurt you." People most often associate being alone as a sign of strength and being dependent as a sign of weakness. But why is it so necessary to optimise self sufficiency? Why can't we normalise having expectations and going through all the detriments of life? We as humans are so conditioned to mention power alongside independence that we think of ourselves as incapable if we tend to depend on other people or even our partners for that matter. We all lay in the dirt of owing ourselves to pull through everything in life on our own. But it is so normal and so frigging okay to need a hand or a shoulder to get through it all. It is okay to be broken and wanting someone to fix you. It is okay to have expectations from a certain soul to heal yours. It's okay to be as weak as you possibly can. Don't let the persistent echoes of the world give you a sense of incompetency in "needing" others for any kind of emotional backing. Let yourself drown in your melancholic song. Someone out there who has a similar tune ringing in their head might come along and even if they don't, you'll atleast know the music to emerge from ashes hale and strong. We all die someday and the only proof that we're still here, alive, are these emotions that we continue to feel. So pause and feel it all as deeply as you can. Because if life is an art, our emotions are the only muse. .
