The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen (1988) Directed by Terry Gilliam Starring John Neville, Eric Idle, Sarah Polley, Oliver Reed, Robin Williams, Uma Thurman Superb production design and Gilliam’s wild visual inventiveness ensures that this 18th century set mythical adventure yarn is a lot of fun. It doesn’t all work but you can’t help but admire Gilliam’s imaginative storytelling. Great cameo from Oliver Reed, and the dance amidst fountains and waterfalls with the goddess Venus (played by Uma Thurman) is just beautiful.
