Onboard Canada's very impressive @RockyMountaineer - as I've said a number of times one of my all time favourite trains!!! I was lucky enough to travel in Gold Leaf - so had a seat in this bi-level dome car, a table reserved at the restaurant on the lower level and a place staked out on the open air viewing deck! Searching for whales. Settling for seals and porpoises. (Not a bad consolation prize.) . Whidbey Island and Fidalgo Island have been awesome spots for outdoor time with the fam. So much water to play in, lots of rock and sand beaches, plenty of drift wood for building creations on shore, lots of seaside trails, and bountiful farmers markets. Plus everything is easily accessible and relatively affordable. (The ferry to get over here was $20 for our car and four passengers.) I wish I could tell you I always knew I’d be an entrepreneur and that it was all planned out as soon as I graduated University... But I’d have to give a big L O L to that statement. BNL arose from heartbreak. It came from a place of craving connection. Loneliness can be a scary feeling and one day I made the decision to move towards instead of move away. I made a choice to find my voice, connect, shine bright, and be vulnerable instead of disconnect and continue along a path that kept me in the dark. A stranger I met back in 2016 encouraged me to see what the digital marketing world was like and that I should start sharing my words in a blog. • I didn’t know what I was doing but I knew I had to do it. I never wanted it to be about me because it wasn’t. It was a story that so many young adults I knew were going through too. I was just another Millennial on the search for a happy, healthy, and sustainable lifestyle. I remember the day I was lying on my bed on the phone with my sister talking about this blog I had to start. Her and I kept sharing potential names back and forth and then came the three words that forever changed the way I lived my life from that point forward. • Breathe. Nourish. Love. Sharing my story through @breathe.nourish.love and connecting with those who didn’t really know that side of me before made me brave. It also made me realize I wasn’t the only one going through the struggle. I wasn’t alone. This business has turned into a personal growth journey that never ends. When I grow, my company grows, and the business owners I get to work with every day grow too. When I built BNL I was craving connection and now I couldn’t be more connected if I tried. Does the loneliness still creep in? Of course. But not a day goes by that I do not hear from someone who supports me, supports my vision, and also allows me to support them on their journey too...And that is a true honour and a privilege.
