Kingdom United comes out today, and if you felt I’ve been shoving it down your throats a bit, you’re right. I fucking well am. And here’s why. . If this record doesn’t get supported, there won’t fucking be another one. . Because this record is a club-focused, underground trance album. . For many, it’s the true sound of Garuda. . It’s got just two vocal tracks. Even Northern Lights has more. . It’s easy to get an album deal based around big vocal singles, but an album like this is a lot harder to get labels interested in. . And after today’s release, the numbers will be being crunched. How many streams? How many saves? . These things matter. . Doesn’t matter how good the music is. If the ‘metrics’ are not right, you’ve never getting funding for something similar again. . If the album performs well, it’ll open many doors to us getting funding to release similar underground projects on Garuda through some of our other artists. . And if it doesn’t? . If the stream, save and playlist numbers aren’t high enough? . Well, this’ll probably be the last time you see Garuda release a project like this. . I hope I’ve explained why this is important. . I bought a guitar last night to celebrate the release of #KingdomUnited so naturally the first track I wanted to try was Amber Sun ☀️ . I have not played an electric guitar a single time in well over ten years so I’ve got fuck all finger strength and my riffs are rusty but still got a feeling for it . Excited to get to know this guitar and get practicing over the next few months to the point where it can feature on a record of mine. .
