Day: 201 Country: Colombia Location: Cartagena | Yesterday we arrived in Cartagena. It was love at first sight. Although the city is very touristy and therefore probably a bit more expensive than the rest of Colombia, it has not yet lost its flair to tourism. The city has the charisma that we liked very much in Antigua and that we had hoped for in Cuba. Since it is already so beautiful, we are very excited about Medellin and Bogota, which were praised by many travelers even higher. What are your experiences with traveling in Colombia? Auch wenn die Stadt sehr touristisch ist und daher vermutlich auch etwas teurer als der Rest Columbiens, hat sie ihren Flair noch nicht an den Tourismus verloren. Die Stadt hat die Ausstrahlung, die uns in Antigua schon sehr gut gefallen hat und die wir uns in Kuba erhofft hatten. Da es hier schon so schön ist, sind wir wahnsinnig gespannt auf Medellin und Bogota, die von vielen Reisenden noch höher gelobt wurden. One of the most epic views during our world trip - La Piedra, Guatapé, Colombia . 650 steps along a super windy staircase, which is built on the very edge of the rock, lead you up to the summit of La Piedra - Guatapé Rock. Swipe right to see its full beauty. . The view takes your breath, as gorgeous lakes are expanding in every direction you can see. Even checking this place out on Google Maps is insane. . What we didn't know before was that these lakes are man-made and arised when they built an enormous hydro electric power plant in the area more than 30 years ago. . Staying in the little town Guatapé is also worth it, as it is super artsy and has delicious restaurants with even tons of vegan choices.

Day: 202 Country: Columbia Place: Cartagena | ¿What are your favorite places in Columbia * Today is our second and unfortunately already last day in Cartagena. After the city was said to be very touristy, we almost completely skipped it, but we are glad to be here ❤️. Yesterday we visited the fortress 'Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas' . This is the largest fort that the Spanish ever built outside of Spain and should serve the defense of Cartagena against the British⛵. The hill of the fortress is criss-crossed like a Swiss cheese, but Max soon got a stiff neck, because all the tunnels are so narrow and low . On the way back we walked through Getsemani. In this part of the city, we especially liked the murals. More about that later. ️ * Tag: 202 Land: Columbien Ort: Cartagena | ¿Was sind eure Lieblingsorte in Columbien * Heute ist unser zweiter und leider auch schon wieder letzter Tag in Cartagena. Nachdem es hieß die Stadt sei sehr touristisch, hätten wir sie beinahe komplett ausgelassen, aber wir sind froh hier zu sein❤️. Gestern haben wir die Festung 'Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas' besucht. Das ist die größte Festung die die Spanier außerhalb Spaniens jemals errichtet haben und sollte der Verteidigung Cartagena vor den Briten dienen⛵. Der Hügel der Festung ist von Gängen durchzogen wie ein Schweizer Käse aber Max bekam schon bald eine Nackenstarre, weil alle Tunnel so schmal und niedrig sind. Auf dem Rückweg liefen wir durch Getsemani. In diesem Stadtteil haben es uns vor allem die Wandmalereien angetan. Spot the monkey . Our first stop in Colombia, outside the capital Bogotá, brought us to this amazing place on earth. It’s quite obvious why Cocora Valley near Salento is visited by so many people. . This breathtaking area of Colombia is surrounded by emerald green hills and dotted with the country’s national tree – the wax palm, which can grow up to 61 meters. . On very rare occasions, if you look very closely, you might even spot a monkey trying/failing to climb the palm trees.
