“EAT WHAT ELEPHANTS EAT” .

Maybe some don’t realize that elephants, the largest land mammal is 100% vegan! They eat 6-800lbs of plants a day along with walking 13-50 miles depending on the species. Now imagine having that in your genes for 1.5 MILLION years but instead your kept captive in a zoo or circus for humans selfish reasons. There is a HUGE difference between a conservation or rescue center and a shady “sanctuary” or any other institution that’s EXPLOITS these beautiful creatures for human entertainment. On top of this elephants are already on the endangered species list and are expected to be completely wiped out by 2050 unless they are artificially inseminated or mated which I believe will happen because elephants have a surplus of a special gene that destroys damaged cells at a much higher rate than any other species therefore they have an extremely low rate of disease and cancer. So not only are these animals killed for their ivory, captured and sold for an enslaved life of entertainment or work they are now being tested on for cancer research

Elephants are majestic and when I think about the possibility of them no longer existing on our planet my heart breaks. If you respect these beautiful creatures and all the others then you will no longer continue to support their exploitation with your money. If you really LOVE animals then treat them kindly and stand up for their freedom

This has inspired me to build and create a morning routine I thoroughly enjoy, thrive off of and motivates me to continue the rest of my day on a productive path. .

Spring has sprung in NYC and my family and I are absolutely loving it ☀️♀️♂️

Ever since the weather has been warmer @leaderlifefitness♥️ and I have begun running/walking our babies again, giving them the double the outside time and they are absolutely loving it. This is an easy healthy habit we’ve added into our routine about 3x a week. By taking 30 minutes to do this we 1. Spend healthy quality time together 2. Get away from our phones & into nature (for the most part ) 3. Get some great cardio in 4. Exercise our babies - get them out of the apartment & moving 5. Vitamin D 6. “Fresh” air, NYC style 7. Inspire others .

I encourage you to set aside time to think about what healthy habits you can easily work into your lifestyle. The “little” things always add up. Think about over your entire life span if you just started to move a little more, eat your veggies, be mindfully thankful everyday- how that could significantly change the outcome of your being at a later age in life. I never want moving my own body to become challenging therefore I challenge my body to move EVERYDAY. Fitness in my opinion is black & white - life vs. death, I’m living or dying, moving or static, becoming stronger or weaker, more mobile or less etc. I workout because good, strong movement in my body represents life & that’s more motivating to me than any other goal. .

You have to challenge yourself in order to progress. 0 pull-ups become 1, 1 becomes 3 and 3 becomes 5. That takes time. & consistency. Show your work ethic through your performance & your body will respond. .

Your body was made to move so do that well & with intention & your quality of life with increase. I’m 30 & still feel like I’m 21. When I’m 40 I will feel even better through consistent high quality performance & .... NUTRITION My body is a garden (That is a large whole other story but same concept of consistency and quality of choices/performance). .

I do a lot of strength & conditioning but I rarely CrossFit so you can imagine how much of a misfit I feel every Saturday. I preach about getting outside of your comfort zone, looking silly & failing and I practice that all the time. You will never get better at anything if you don’t try. There are so many strong, hardworking woman in this class and I’m inspired to perform better every time. .

CrossFit is a huge challenge for me (& I’m pretty sure everyone? that’s kind of the point). I have to find the perfect balance between pushing myself & humbling my tiny ego . I’m searching for my limits. I’ve found a few of them & I’ve broken a few I placed on myself. You have to be very in tune with your body aside from knowing and being able to perform the movements with proper form. It’s a complex sport. I highly respect the athletes. .
