For the Moms doin the damn thing on your own - Margot turned 6 months today. And as I frantically sucked her boogers from her nose while brushing my teeth this morning and bounced her while haphazardly applying blush, trying so hard to make it on time THIS time for work - I reflected on how long (and short) these past 6 months of her life have been. How did I do it? How am I still doing it? Where is this reserve of strength coming from? I work hard. I take care of my baby. And I support us both. There are some days that I wake up feeling like I can’t do it, I cry because the sun is shining and I’m so tired my feet feel too heavy to lift, or I feel too alone in this. But MOST days, I feel like I can do anything because of Margot. MOST days I feel like I’m killing it. She is the best thing I’ve ever done and when she lays her head on my chest in the middle of the night or in the early morning, that reserve of strength just refills all on its own. Margot turns 6 months old today, and her first words have been “Mama”, “Mom” and “Mom mom”. THAT is what keeps this Mom Mom going my friends. My daughter and my family. ❤️ Be kind to yourself today.
