How different would your life be if you thought about your goals DAILY?
Up until April, I used to write down my 5 goals for the year EVERYDAY in my journal. It really helped me reconnect with the specific reasons I was doing daily uncomfortable actions to get closer to the life and health I wanted (ex. waking up 45 mins earlier to get my workout in, going to networking events ALONE to overcome my shyness, sharing my services with my social circle who might need my help and risk getting rejection, etc.)
However, as I started reaching some of my goals, I let my habit of writing them down each day slide. Consequence: I was taking less action towards my dreams. And guess what? I was getting less consistent results.
So this morning, I restarted my practice of reconnecting to my goals and my dream life. And throughout the day, I am constantly evaluating if I'm taking action towards the things I say I want.
For example, one of my goals is to take a minimum of 10 000 steps per day. If I'm consciously thinking about this every morning, do you think I'm more likely to take a 15-minute walk at lunch over sitting down and scrolling my newsfeed? I likely am!
Therefore I invite you to do the same. Just give it a try for one week! What do you have to lose?
Decide on ONE specific health goal that you want to achieve, and write it down each morning (or say it out loud). Though out your day, notice if you're making decisions that move you toward or away from this goal and adjust accordingly. And if this practice helps keep you accountable, continue it for another week.
