There have been photo shoots where I have walked seven miles one way through soft sand. Or I crossed a mile long breakwater and then a mile each way through soft sand. And each time was with heavy gear. Such was the case when I photographed this shot of Long Point Lighthouse in Provincetown. On my way back on this night, I calculated the tide wrong and got stuck on the breakwater all night. Well, until 3:30am anyway. I guess my point is that my best shots and my greatest successes always seem to come from danger and putting in tremendous amounts of work and effort. So I try hard not to let things scare me that seem almost impossible. I do them anyway and if I fail I fail, but most times I end up very grateful in some way. . .
