A cuirass owned by François-Antoine Faveau, who was in Napoleons army. He took part in the final charge of the Battle of Waterloo, on June 18th, 1815, a desperate but beautiful last effort, almost half of the brigade perished in the one charge. Faveau himself was struck and killed by a cannonball that pierced his cuirass, went straight through his chest, and exited out the back. He was likely of high status, seeing as the armor is gold plated and engraved.
