Why do you use Instagram? For me it all started when we first moved in I couldn’t wait to get started on the decorating, so I started using Instagram for inspiration. I then found out there was a whole community of people on here doing the same. I held back for a while, just being a little lurker Then I finally started to join in, and before I knew it, I made online friends, something I never thought I would ever do! A couple of years ago I was in a really dark place, nothing I could control. Within 2 short years I lost my dad to cancer, my wedding was 10 weeks after he passed (never thought I would have to organise a funeral and a wedding at the same time). I then had a baby after the most stressful pregnancy, we moved house with a new born, and we learned that our son was on the Autistic spectrum and had a long road to diagnoses. Then just to add a bit more stress to moving house, my husband got diagnosed with cancer right in the middle of the move. I remember when my husband was in recovery after his operation, I was still trying to clear out the flat on my own, I swear I was only few seconds away from losing the plot, but I didn’t, I’m still here to tell the tale. I did however become extremely anxious, but too be fair, I think that was to be expected. I never talk about this, but now I feel better about it, I can finally address those difficult times. So anyhoo, since starting this whole Instagram malarky I feel like like me again. I never expected to gain any of this and I can’t tell you how great full I am.
