It’s always been a dream of mine to pretend I was a princess and wear a ballgown in the Hall of Mirrors at The Palace of Versailles. I was determined to make this dream happen, and stuffed an entire ballgown into my suitcase! Yesterday, I did just that! Got there 30 minutes prior, ran at the speed of light through the halls, and actually developed quite a crowd!!! I was so nervous, but it was so worth it. ❤️❤️❤️

(previously titled ‘Connection’) ✨ ✨ Thrilled to pick this up from @framewarehouseukltd yesterday; Biggest painting I’ve ever had framed and I’m delighted they’ve done such a wonderful job! On the way home, with my big painting in my car, I stopped to place my bets for the Grand National; I’d chosen two horses whose names I felt were appropriate, (Vintage Clouds and Ultragold) and I needed to cross a few others off my list and to finalise a third choice...and then I spotted a horse called Magic of Light - I immediately decided two things - 1. I had to change the title of this painting - and 2. I needed to bet on this horse! Friendship played a big part in my day, with one friend coming with me to help me collect the painting when she already had plenty of stuff to do, because I was too impatient to wait a few days for my husband to be free. Another friend, a lighting designer who naturally shares my love of light, and who later decided to bet on the same horse because of the name, also helped me to make an important light-based decision. I’d been to see a really good house that offered the prospect of better studio space, and I was having a dilemma as I actually don’t really want to move house. Just before my friend and I settled down at home to watch the race, (I’d shown him the painting and we’d talked about the title and the horse) he asked me whether the house I’d just seen offered the same superb light as my own home... lightbulb moment. The answer was no. The light in my home and view of the sea and sky from my great big windows is very special and important to me, what on earth had I been thinking? Phew, no house move necessary. Another absolutely gorgeous short. I must thank @ivan.ss.stopmotion for bringing this beautiful series of shorts to my attention which are all truly touching. To ensure that I reiterate it's meaning correctly I'm going to quote from a very well written article I read about the series on @lighthouseinsights by Vinaya: #MagicOfLight comprises three videos conceptualized by OnAds Communications, which begin like a fairy tale, but end with a true story, each highlighting the brand’s role in empowering dreams using the magic of light, each illustrating hope in times of despair. Taking the animation route, the minute-long films feature animated characters who make a wish for change in their life, only to be replaced with real characters whose lives have now changed. Firefly’ is about the lighting initiatives taken up in poorly lit streets, thereby enabling women to travel safely.
